A Slimy Math Lesson!

Our class learned about following sequence exactly today as they did a math/science lesson on measurement and equivalents. They followed a recipe and made two solutions that when put together, turned to slime! We loved seeing their enthusiasm as they went through the process. Happy Halloween 3rd Graders!

  1. I don’t have the exact recipe here at home, but you can follow the instructions on this website which looks just like what we did. We made sure to use warm water for the borax solution so that it dissolved well and we also made sure NOT to stir (although it says to in this recipe) the glue solutionas you pour it into the borax solution as it solidified almost immediately. We simply lifted the slime out of the water and kneaded it in our hands until it was putty-like. Have fun! http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemistryactivities/ss/slimerecipe.htm
