Class Update 8/22

Dear Parents,

Many of you have been wondering about how to log on to Go Math online. Please see the instructions at the link on the right side of the page under blogroll called “How to Log in to Go Math.” If your child does not have their 9 number memorized, please have them ask me for it. We have not had access to the computer labs quite yet as the programs are still being set up for student use.

This week at a glance:

  • Math: Rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 & Different strategies to add numbers within 1,000
  • Spanish: Staying in Spanish during Spanish Time :), We are working on some fun oral presentations using an app and will share those when the entire class finishes. We will also be beginning our first official literature unit this week including new vocabulary, talking about how collaborating can help us solve problems with a fictional story.  Grammatical focus: masculine article: el
  • Spelling: Groups will begin next week
  • Cursive: We will begin this week with lower case letter l and e
  • Language Arts: How to Hold a Collaborative Conversation, vocabulary and literacy routines – more stories on collaborating and problem solving and beginning of constructive writing – restating questions in our answers.
  • 7 Habits – Leader in Me – writing class and personal mission statements.

Physical Education – Remember that P.E. is held on Thursday afternoons. Your child should have shared a letter with you from Miss. J discussing how they can come prepared for P.E. each week.

I am enjoying having your children in my class. They are learning routines quickly and are excited to apply the things they are learning.

Please email me if you have any questions.
